Jason lost his right leg above the knee due to a tragic tractor accident while working on his uncle's dairy farm in 1983 at the age of fifteen. Thanks to the guidance of God, Jason's cousin showed up and was able to tourniquet his leg and slow the bleeding to keep Jason alive. After a long trip to the hospital, skin grafts, and rehabilitation Jason was eventually able to begin walking again. He has seen technology come a long way since his first "wooden leg" and now walks on a Microprocessor knee (C-Leg) with a Symmetry suspension system and has never walked better or more comfortable. The Symmetry system has promoted blood flow in his residual limb and help with ongoing phantom pains, as well as a nueroma. Between his involvemnt in church, driving a school bus, teaching, coaching basketball and working his farm Jason keeps a schedule that runs from sun up to well beyond sundown. Hear Jason tell you about his life and how he has overcome and accomplished despite the accident.
