Comprehensive Care...Infinite Possibilities
When Infinity O&P first began serving Southern Tennessee and Northern Alabama we envisioned being more than just another prosthetic and orthotic provider. Our vision has always been to provide all around patient care that involves your physician, surgeon, therapist and practitioner all working together in order to help you regain control of your life through advanced patient care. While under our care you can forget about focusing on your disability and start focusing on your abilities. It is a great joy in our lives when we are able to assist our patients in acheiving their goals and watching them regain a fullness of life they thought no longer possible. To have a prosthetic or orthopedic provider that can consult with your physician and therapist to help assure you are receiving the overall care you need is invaluable. One on one consultations between your care providers will give you a continuity of care that will allow for the best opportunity for a full recovery and helps you to regain fullness of life.
The value of direct physician contact:
We all know doctors are extremely busy, some times trying to get in touch with them can be difficult. Normally you would have to leave a message and wait for a phone call back. At Infinity O&P we are in direct contact with your surgeon and physician and they are able to reach us as well. If they have a question concerning your prosthetic care, they call and we come right to their office if necessary. If we have a question for them then we are able to call them and be certain your prosthetic care does not conflict with any ongoing care instructions they have. The ability to make certain you are receiving the best physician prescribed prosthetic care available is what sets Infinity O&P apart from others and allows us to open new opportunities for life with your ability.
The importance of physical therapy:
Your doctor may prescribe rehab and physical therapy for you if you are a new patient or if you need gait training on your prosthetic. The importance of Physical Therapy can not be exaggerated. As a new amputee your body must be rehabbed after surgery and the change in muscular structure of the amputated limb will call for retraining of those muscles as well. You have fewer muscles trying to accomplish the same tasks as all your muscles used to be able to do. The technology of prosthetics is greatly advanced and will continue to move forward, however, you need to strengthen the remaining muscles in order to take advantage of the technology.
